Re: New Brown Based Splinter B smocks from Barry Lyndon

Right that´s the point  ! This is what I wanted to hear, so I totally agree, just like I have wrote in my first post. But I think it is imortant to let the people know that the Spearhead smock is not bad but it does not reach the authenticity of the high-end products such as G-Max or Zeug. I a...

Re: New FD smocks: how do they look?

Splitter pattern was not always green, that is true, but in the last two decades I only have seen FD jackets with a green base color (live and in all books). The base color is not the biggest problem, the fundamental problem is the camouflage of this Berry Lyndon FD jacket, it is 50% pure fantasy, p...

Re: New Brown Based Splinter B smocks from Barry Lyndon

Looks great on the first view, far better than the splinter A (HORROR) smock from Sturm. But on closer viewing.... the camouflage pattern is only 50% accurate and the rest of the camo pattern is a imaginative design. Compare the Barry Lyndon splinter B with original FD jackets or jump smock´s and yo...

Re: Please tell me that this is just a joke....

The "Leiber" pattern has really exist, also winter jackets and trousers exists. How Sheik allready said, winter clothing was often not longer reversible at the end of the war (exceptions prove the rule). But the worst crime , is the copy of the camouflage pattern ! At the first view, it lo...

I've had that Sumpf smock, it was also wrong because the material was too thick and felt (and looked) a bit synthetic.
compare the Barry Lyndon splinter B with pictures of original FD jackets or jump smock´s and you´ll surly find the errors.

Schuetze Arsch> Are you basing your writings on experience or by "reenactors expertise" collected on internet pages? Please re-read what I wrote. Mikkel, I have my personal experience with the Sturm-boots. I started with the collecting of WW2 militaria a long time before any WW2 internet-...

Re: Jackboots (Landser outfitters, how do they hold up?)

Sorry, it has nothing to do with the care of the boots, sounds like the chinese manufacturer has no idea how to make proper German marching boots! The "Sturm" boots are not really well done, the soles are only glued (not sewed) and the leather is also more a leatherette stuff. The "St...

Re: Best Bandoleers for FJ?

So, who makes the best Splinter B Bandoleers? The Sturm ones I can get wholesale are too short and too small for the 8x57s, and the camo is wrong. I emailed Spearhead, was told the next run will be made longer for Westerners. Nobody's Splinter B is perfect. So, what options do you Europeans have? L...

Re: At the front 44 dot..

But I don't think this tread was about which reproduction that was the best. it would also be a lot more fair to compare the repro to originals, instead of the typical comparison of reproduction to other reproductions :) What is the point here, opinions on the At-the front peas jacket, rigth ? I th...
