Looking good! Are flare pistols legal in the UK, or do they have to be deactivated too?

Indeed bonkers, they are legal in Belgium. Always nice to see a flare going of.

This one is a full worker- I'm in Australia so these are legal to own without a permit or license (In Victoria at least) as it is classed as it is...a signaling device- the rifled Z pistol would be a different story.

Nice set up.

Sadly they need licensing in Queensland, deemed a concealable firearm. Unless you have a vessel and its part of the safety equipment stowed on it, they have to be temporarily deac'd and held in secure storage.

They (US M8 Flare projectors, WW1 and WW2 Enfield flare guns etc)were turning up with brass inserts to allow 12g cartridges to be fired through them. Crude I know but effective for settling Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMG) feuds.

in the states they do sell the 12 gauge inserts but they only work with the 12 gauge flare signaling shells......there is something different between a flare shell and a shotgun shell

Servus Obergefreiter Hansch,

Excellent Leuchtpistole display! I like your leather work on the pistol lanyard...can you make another? I think I have a spare clip in one of my boxes. Does the IMA holster come with the shoulder strap? I have a similar set with my Leuchtpistole...a 1943 ERMA, but I'm using a captured Russian pistol lanyard and I don't have a set of the Bakelite flare containers:

Where does the bakelite containers go ?
The bag is only with seperate compartments for individual flares.

Typical German over packaging! The bakelite containers are shipping containers. Usually see them at fixed locations.

Sadly no. I use a gas mask tin strap for mine.

I also just use a leather lace for the lanyard.

One of our members has got one on 'ticket',but it states he is not allowed to fire it.Depends on which police authority you live I suppose, they all have their own interpretation of the firearm laws.

I also struggled to find a leather strap for my holster - when I gave up looking i just whacked a breadbag strap onto it and it does the job fine.
