Need help with German Occupation Sign

Post by Me-109 Jagdflieger »

Hello Gents,

I picked up a sign at a local antique store and have some questions about it. It is a Bekanntmachung Sign from the Occupied Netherlands which in summary reads "If railway, signal or communication installations are sabotaged, damaged or destroyed the whole community where it happened will be seen as guilty for it and that the occupators can confiscate goods, destroy a house or a group of houses as reaction. So it is in the interest of every community to set up patrols and guards that this does not happen." Dated 24 September 1944. Have any of you run across these before? Any idea what it might be worth? Searching the web is not turning up much,
I have posted a good photo of the poster/sign up on my FLIKR page where it can be viewed better, http://www.flickr.com/photos/luftwaffep ... 869917317/

Vielen dank,
Jonathan

I've got copies in Polish, French, Russian, Flemish and also Dutch. Value isn't much, maybe £20-30 depending on condition.

Heh, on ones from Poland you will rather find "100 hostages will be shot". :(
