translation of german words

Hi,

I have tried Babble fish and dictonary.com to try and translate some words from geman to english, but no luck, can any body please help.
they both dont reconise them, the words I needs translating are:

Dienstunfahig:

Erschienen:

Dienstfahig:

Anl. Arztfiches:

any help welcomed

Re-doing German at night class at the mo so here goes no dictionary to help Dienststelle
Dienst=service
Stelle=position
So service position or trade of soldier e.g. Funker(radioman) Pioneer,Grenadier etc etc
Will have a think about others am at work and under the cosh at the mo

Dienststelle can also mean duty station as in 'Feldgendarmerie dienststelle'.

Either you don't trust us "Germans" (especially the real ones) on here or you think the Poopile is a better bet.... This puzzles me..... cross posting to cross check perhaps?

Hi Paul,

your right, just cross checking, couldn't find the answers in the dictonary. com or babblefish but it appears that some of the markings (above the letters) are missing off the form (its a repro document) thats why they wouldnt translate.

I have the answes now so i will put on here if you want .

I also dont mind and if anybody wants a scan / copy of it, I can do it for them, no problems.

erschienen = appeared (past tense)

Anl. Arztfiches should be Anl. Arztliches. I don't know what "anl." is an abbreviation for but "Arztlich" means medical, or if it's used with something else, it's probably "doctor's ...." (whatever the other word is). I think it's probably doctor's notes / comments / findings in this content.

On a side note, there's a VERY good dictionary at http://dict.leo.org that has a much broader scope than print dictionaries and Babelfish. I highly recommend it. They also have a forum where you can ask about words that are not listed.

Anl. stands for Anlage = Appendix!
