Is anyone else watching the re-runs of this 5 part series? If not, then you should. It has some great archive film footage and excellent first hand testimonials explaining what it was like to be a young man or woman growing up in the Nazi regime. Apart from the tired old cliche of constantly labeling Adolf Hitler as "insane" it provides a fascinating insight into the experiences and indoctrination of the average young German under his authority.
By the end of it, the question of wartime German atrocities is no longer: "how could they have done such things?", but more "how come it didn't go much further?".
