Speers B'day present for Adolf

Post by dog green 1 »

Sold back in March at a Uk auction.

......"Adolf Hitler - A Formal Silver '50th Birthday' Presentation Tray By Bruckmann, the centre bearing the eagle device with wings folded and displayed, flanked by the initials A. H, and framed with greek key pattern border 40.5cm x 30.5cm. 48 troy oz, 1493g.

The Bruckmann 'formal pattern' of presentation silver flatware and tableware was made as a spectacular 50th birthday present to Adolf Hitler from Albert Speer, and appears to have been used exclusively by the firms of Bruckmann and Wellner. There are believed to be six sets of 500 pieces, that were distributed among the places Hitler frequented the most, the 'Berghof' (Hitler's Mountain Home), 'Der Adlerhorst' (the Eagle's Nest), the 'Gasthaus' (Guest House) at Obersalzberg, the 'Braune Haus (the Brown House), the 'Prinzregentenplaz' apartment in Muchen and the 'Reichskanzlei' in Berlin.

Estimate £600-£800

Sold £28 000
