Hi Von Bock

I don,t have a pair of their new ankle boots but I do have a pair of their early war paras and their DAK boots and I have no complaints as the leather on both of these is superb quality , very soft and supple and easy to wear. I have a pair of Richards ankle boots which look superb but seem a little fragile and I do fear for their longevity but I know others swear by them . Horses for courses I suppose , if I had the choice again I would go for the SOF ones , as they are good value for money.

Best of luck , Jason

yes, bought a pair of the SOF ones at Beltring, quite possibly the most comfortable boots i have ever owned, even brand new. no rubbing, nice to walk in. Dubbed and Polished, covered in mud, washed them in a bowl of water when i got home to get the mud off and were still dry inside, can't beat that for £70 really. better at half the price

Of corse its all down to how you look after your boots as to how long they last

Black or Brown

Post by 2ad82recon »

Hi Von Bock et al ....just ordered my kit from Dog Green One... and need the footwear.

What is the difference..yes apart from colour..... 8) regarding black or brown ankle boots.

For SS troops circa mid to late 44 to 45 which would they have worn ?

Thanks for the newbie advice all

regards

Lloyd

2ad82recon its all down to what they used most boots that the German forces uced came in that Yellow orange colour. If the troops used Lederefft (Leatherfat) then they would of been a blckish colour
Image
if you use just dubbing then a dull brown like sean has gone for
Image
RAU sells Lederfett it around 6 pound me thinks *

Foot Note thats two posts on boots in under 1/2 hour I dont have a boot or Foot Fetish
