WINTER 44 SPANBY LINCS w/e 30th NOV 2012
WINTER 44 SPANBY LINCS w/e 30th NOV 2012
Guys, in line with the success of last years late event we have decided to run a winter themed event at Spanby site on w/e 30th Nov 2012.
We have free reign to dig in etc and already have a large bunker/trench system permanently in situ, with other emplacements around the forest.
The area is 75 acres. Those of you who have been on a Nam/airsoft or WW2 event know what I'm talking about. Spanby was recently featured in SKIRMISH magazine as the the setting for GD recons promotional video which utilised the bunkers and trenches - it even snowed that weekend and was officially the coldest place in England!! (-16 at night).
The event is open to ALL quality re-enactment groups both new and old. Period vehicles can be used on the site.
Any questions please ask.
Please post your participation here
Thanks
Chris

Re: WINTER 44 SPANBY LINCS 3/4TH NOV 2012
What is the scenario?
That would probably dictate who would attend......... and is it airsoft or real steel?
If it's real steel then it needs to be a training/rehearsal weekend - Doesn't it?

Re: WINTER 44 SPANBY LINCS 3/4TH NOV 2012
Yes Paul real steel training event
Scenarios to be confirmed but to be honest whether you put it out as an Ardennes or Rhineland event - you get plenty of people saying they'll come - but who actually attends is another thing. Usual supporting groups will be in attendance and as a "training exercise" the scenarios will be loosely based on actual events with some tolerance dependant on groups in attendance.
Cheers Chris
There is also the possibility of a Eastern Front event late Feb in collaboration with Pete where obviously it would have to be German/Russian further details as we work em out.

Why does this always happen, This is the same date as Longmoor private battle. Any chance of an alternative date or numbers might be slim for you Chris?

Hi Chris
I had the Longmoor event down as 3/4 November, unless it's changed recently.
