German WW2 period style haircuts

Post by feldman »

What are the options for people who are starting to loose their hair ? The typical German WW2 period haircuts dont look good when you are missing 1/4 or 1/3 of the hair. Do you cut it in the typical way anyway regardless of the amount of hair missing ? :?

There is a catagory on here somewhere, normally it would be left longer
on the top and shorter round the back and sides, but if you are losing
it on the top have it graded and perhaps shorter below :?: (grade 3 top
and grade one back/sides)

Good luck, Pipes

Shave all off.
All the same lenght.
If you let a few hairs growe on top of your skull, and with the sides
cutted.....that look rather strange.

My opinion: didn't shave all off, it was extremely rare to shave off all the head until the arrival of Vin Diesel  at that time people will have looked like if you had lice. in the early 70's my teachers tried to cover his bald head with the little hair they had, it was better to have very little hair than to be completely bald. Shaved off haircuts is something I never saw in my life until the mid-80's.

two exampes from the LSSAH. 1943 just before Citadelle.

In the pic. he may look shaved off but he has hair in the sides as was the normal way at that time.

my point was that you can shave it all off on a certain lenght.
I did not say until the skin of skull...
Maybe i do look like a bit like Vin Diesel  , and lice isn't the problem also.
my hair is a bit like the 2nd last pic with nothing on top,but what is left is blond.
I don't choose the 'birdsnest' look but a bit shorter.
Looks also natural.

my 2 euro cents
(for what is worth nowedays)
