Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
Thank you Yuri, very nice words from you.
We have another two public events planned within the next few weeks,
but we feel it is best talk about them AFTER they have happened.
New pictures will be posted in good time, we are a small group,
but we intend to be very high profile on the internet, as this is
the only way the public will know about us and our hobby.
Once again, thank you for your support. Cheers, Bill.

Very well done there Bill, there's a saying oop North here, keep going with your head down! and it seems that you are through hard work and determination. Just a quick curious question, how was the general response from the public?
Again well done,
Johan.

Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
The public were fine, that was never the issue.how was the general response from the public?
The obstructions in the past were always other WW2 reenactors in Germany
But as they have remained VERY QUIET, that issue seems to be resolved too?

Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
The first video showing Waffen-SS reenactors in Germany
(Thanks goes to "Kradschuetze" for putting the photos and filmclips in this video together)
Notes about the video for our English viewers:
1. It states at the beginning in red that "This is not a political video!" This disclaimer was added to comply with German laws.
2. "Kampfgruppe Blaues Ei" ( Battlegroup Blue Egg, or Blue Balls) is a group internal joke refering to a winter morning in the past.
3. All photos and filmclips shown in the video were taken at the event discussed in this thread, there are none from other events.
4. The background music is from "Florian Geyer", chosen because our main unit is "8th SS Florian Geyer Div."
5. It should also be noted that we are the only Waffen-SS group established in Germany that has gone public.
So please enjoy our first production, there will be many more and I am sure we will improve as time goes on.
Cheers, Bill.

Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
Our latest public event, this time in the west of Germany (NRW)
This time six members of the group turned up to a museums open day and put on a
display of British and German military uniforms and equipment. "Civilians" were also
represented. The event was organized and coordinated by the "Museumsprojekt Heimat".
A photographer attended the event, however the CD with the images will not arrive for a
few days, so I have included a pic of my own for the moment.
The public asked many questions and the response was very positive, we had to explain about the
hobby because almost all of the visitors knew nothing about WW2 reenactment in Germany until we told them.
I was dressed this time as British due to the fact I am wearing "Mutton Chops" in readiness for Waterloo next month.
Cheers, Bill.

Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
Today i be proud, that i be able to show you some more photos of our latest projekt.
Thanks to the crew of the "Haus des Bergmanns" and special thanks to Dirk Thomas who has made these grandious photos for us again (click here to visit his site: http://www.fotogalerie-thomas.de )
I want to show you just a little bit of our exhibition
To make an advice to the people who are interested our british section has just build a little display in the front garden
This was just a quiet room showing the reality of the last days during the war in background you could hear the sound of a radio tune with the warning for JaBos attacking the homeland
one of our special highlights were our Civilian "Manny" just returning from steal some Coal from theTrains that leaves the mine. His neighbors were with him. The Miners in the little Town called this organisieren - he just were lucky he gets 3 "Knabbel"(greater pieces) of coal and he has much more luck escaping from the controlling british soldiers at the railroad crossing...
the good soul of these nice little house anywhere in the lower rhine area, just in one of these less good moments during these hard days. Just a lot of worries drawn her face - how will she make the family survive?
The glorious britisch Army has taken some POW's on their try to escape from the town.
The victourious britisch soldiers has taken these two young SS men and interrogate them right now.
these two soldiers was highly armed and only a great tactical has saved the live and health of all people who has taken part in this action
Espacially if you see that this guy just know how partisan fight work...

Re: Public Railway Event in Germany
Due to the bad weather today, I could not do the outdoor jobs in the garden.
Therefore I took time to update my website and an article about "Florian Geyer"
and some recent pictures have been posted there.....

Cheers, Bill.
