At the end of the war 300.000 german soldiers left Denmark on foot through the border in the south of jutland. Everyone left their kit there. i have seen some footage of it. Gigantic piles.
After the war, almost all of it were destroyed by the allies, so they could sell new equipment to the danish army, who therwise easily could have used the leftover kit, as was done in other occupied countries.

The top pic, are they being searched? it looks it...
I feel for them all of course but the soldier with his hand over his eyes really stands out....

The bench and gas bottles are interesting too, arms in the background, helmets in one pile and the engineer's (Warren, Si and Andy's) equipment closer to the camera.
