Yes I remember reading about this haul in an old edition of Time Magazine dated August of 1944, It seems that the mail in these sacks was written by GI's and were confiscated by United States Army Headquarters when censors realised that they were all get well cards destined to the Adolf Hitler fan club following the July 20th Assassination attempt on his life.
