snow goggles for those with spectacles?

were there special sunglasses/snow goggles for those that wore glasses in the GJ?

No , the schneeschutzbrille ( snow goggles ) or private purchase sonnenbrille ( sunglasses ) prevent snow blindness . The suns glare on snow can be damaging to the eyes with too much exposure .

so those with prescription lenses just went blind then ?

Good point , but ... I suspect that if you couldn't function with the equipment issued , you'd be " re deployed ". Wether there were prescription sunglasses in the '30s , I don't know , but , issue of schneebrille would have been as and when , as with a lot of other high mountain equipment .
