type 99 rifle by Kokura series 23 seriel number 139 so its a farily early production rifle.
and a nambu type 14 pistol, sadly only a replica for now

Wil almost say like new butt on the but is a little bit off damage.
Thanks to the dealer i bought it from
It's original 2 piece construction with wooden but plate.

has it had the mon ground off or is it still intact?

No it's been ground off but not in the whole.
It's a Java bring back by a dutch KNIL soldier

If i'm right they were from about 1943 till 1945

yeah i suppose it often depended on when the individual manufacturers ran out of the metal plates they swapped to the wooden ones to star with, until the metal stocks ran low and most of the factories had to swap over to wood
