Not a problem, drop me a PM with your details and I'll get you on the production list properly.colonel wrote:I have just seen these watches for the first time and they look great. Are you still taking orders for them because I would definite like to get one?
Not only still on the list, but your watch is now finished and on the test bench.Chainsaw 7 wrote:Just checking in to make sure I'm still on "The List"

I just wanted to let you know that my new KM watch arrived safely and very well packaged, thanks.
There was a minor problem with the strap. I have big hands and a thick wrist so the strap would only just fasten on the first hole. I have taken off the leather strap and fitted an old fashioned expanding bracelet and look very authentic for the era. I know that its a KM watch but I not going down in a U-Boot in the near future so corrosion is not a problem.
All of the watches you make seem to be military style and that is fine, but I wanted a watch which looks as though it was just bought in a shop in, say, 1938. I would like to see a watch with a "Champagne" or "off White" coloured dial. I believe that they were quite popular colours for that time and that that was what a civilian might have on the street or a new recruit in the military. Any chance?

Here's an example of the shade of off-white I use for dials:
(Please ignore the poor-quality printing on this example, it was a prototype with a rough print to check size and position)

I've probably mentioned it before, but something else that I occasionally have is original period timepieces.
Here's a nice pre-war Hanhart that I've been working on on-and-off for a year or so now, the lack of readily-available spare parts has been the main problem in getting it finished, and it still needs a new balance staff. I guess I'll have to turn one from scratch.
Pre-1950s civvy gents watches tended to be a lot smaller than what we're used to nowadays.
The Hanhart above is a mere 25mm lug-to-lug.
Ladies' watches were even smaller.
Here's one I restored as a birthday present for my mother:
As a size guide, here it is on a 2p coin:
All the best,

Hello
any chance of making DH pocket watches?
I'd buy one in a heart beat.

I'd have to check whether any suitable cases are available and report back.

Same here!
The last I heard, the watch set aside for me was undergoing it's 'sea trials' phase.
I suppose it didn't pass?
