FJ39-45 Hellvellyn March for the Ghurka Welfare Trust

[[FJ]-mustard-[39-45]]

This weekend 47 climbers attempted to scale hellvellyn, in the lake district, a height of 3,117 ft, was no mean feat. All 47 were in priod kit, from German, Russian, and British! For H&S reasons most of the footwear is not period! Here are some pictures of FJ 39-45 on the hill! The other 300 pictures can be found here

at one stage we were mobbed for photos, got a good response from MOPs. some of whom couldnt beleive we were climbing in kit and with bergens although sadly cleated/studded boots were not allowed. this event has a particular significance to us as it commemorates Hangman's Hill at Monte Cassino.
