Yes, you would be the ideal reviewer having owned an original.

Feldjager wrote:Colour is good - the original is a more 'tropical' colour, but you see these in all shaded including splinter A camo.

The canvas may be the bugbear - the original is made of a very lightweight, almost linen like material. However I can appreciate that there is a need for a trade off viz a viz authenticity vs available materials and durability.

I've used the original one of these at events on quite a few occasions, and it slept 2 of us with kit easily, and unlike a zelt you don't knock the pole down if you roll over!

Many thanks guys for your feedback and it sounds like we may of got it right first time around. I am happy with the heavier weight canvas just purely from a durability angle and I do like the colour too.

I think this may be our best selling tent if I get the poles right.

Best wishes,

Jack.

If you can get the 14 metal poles right, it'd be a winner!

Grüß Gott Zeltmacher Jack,

This will be a great tent to have. I think the color is fine, though I do like the original Olive Green color...but this usually fades to a tan anyways.

I also understand the heavier canvas material for durability, but for us Gebirgsjägers who would like a tent to carry with us into the mountains...every ounce counts. A lightweight version, like the original, would be ideal for Gebirgsjägers for which the tent was designed for. It would be great marketing for you if we could get several tents (we have 12 people going...6 tents) for July's Project Edelweiss 2010 event in the French Alps. Some awesome photographs could be taken of the tents at 12,000+ feet.

Hi Keith - hopefully if I can get the poles made at the right price - they will be wooden as metal poles will be way to expensive - then I hope to get the price at £349.99.

We will have a limited number made this year just so we can see what the demand would be and just waiting on lead times now.

Best wishes,

Jack.

Was hoping for the Gebirgsnachrichtenzelt to be available for our event "Project Edelweiss" in the French Alps in 2 weeks. :(

Oh, well...it will be an open Bivouac for us at 3350 meters!
