Der Windhund!

Post by fallingplate »

I have been working on this figure for the last week or so. The figure represents an Obergrenadier of 2nd Kompanie, 1st Bataillon, Panzergrenadier-Regiment 60, 116 Panzer Division 'Der Windhund'.

WHAT A MOUTH FULL!!!!

He is a Panzergrenadier as denoted by the grass green waffenfarbe on his shoulder boards and within the litzen. he has been awarded the 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen' in bronze for Pz Gren's and has earned the 1941/42 'Winterschlacht Im Osten', these awards mark him as a veteran of the 16 Pz Gren Div before its amalgamation into 'Der Windhund'.

Time line is August 1944, in the Falaise Pocket.

Figure, boots, gaitors, uniform, belt Y straps, gas cap/bag, K98 - DiD
K98 pouches, E tool, bayonet, breadbag, waterbottle, gas mask case, grenades, helmet, Infanry assault badge - Dragon
Zeltbahn - 21st Century
Assorted straps and buckles, winter war ribbon -scratch built.

Nice figure,I know not every body likes 1/6th scale figures, but as far as Im concerned they
are just a larger scale of model.Have you got the 12ins action figure book by Histoire & collections,it shows how to age unifoms etc; and also check the Kampfgruppe Von Apt diorama
website, huge outdoor dioramas with tanks, trains and planes.
