Here is Max's prototype buckles added to my wickelgamaschen. They work fine, look the part and are not too difficult to make if you have the tools. Better than using originals in the field! They just need a final file to straighten them up and de-bur them.

No, these are prussian I ww damn logn puttees.

But it wouldn't be hard to shorten them to the correct length. They are probably more accurate then "other" origin puttees as far as colour and material goes.

There are lots more to be done to convert them. The textile seems not so elastic as it should be. The narrower stripe is completely wrong (cotton instead of wool) and should be replaced (in fact 2 pairs would be needed, or 3 for 2 converted pairs). Buckle and hook are different too.

There is a spanish dealer who we just convinced to do them. The fabrik is not excelent but quite good. They are made of a double lyer of elastic woolish looking fabrik.
The web is http://www.furriel.com but they still do not show them.

Email them. Sam speaks English. Alternatively do a Google search on the site and when it comes up, click on the translated page.

I have dealt with Sam before- great kit and cheap too. There is a world outside Europe! You just gotta think outside the square!!!!!!!
