Look at this one:

In the back it says "Herbstmanöver 1936". Look at the image of the Alpini officer in the back.

About the stripes of Marios and Franz photos: could it be some rank stripes? In both photos, the other soldiers around are NCO's. Could it be one stripe Unterscharführer/Oberjäger, 2 stripes Scharführer/Unterfeldwebel,...?

An interesting photo here. anybody recognising the type of sweaters/jumpers they are predominantly wearing ? (with some kind of stripe on sleeve).
Image
I dont know any thing about it think its part of the sports kit used by Heer and SS

Servus Bergkameraden,

The sweaters/jumpers/athletic suits in question are known as the Sportschutz- or Traininganzug. According to Angolia's book Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945 these were made out of navy blue tricot material. The bands/stripes on the sleeves indicate rank. No stripe for enlisted personnel, one stripe for NCO's and two stripes for Officers.

Servus Albert,

Great photograph! Could be a poster for a future Project Edelweiß.

Well, quite well-lnow photo ;) although it never stops suprising me. See his litzen - this guy was possibly a gebirgsartillerie man... also note a stemless edelweiss on his cap.

This postcard shows a pre-war Gebirgsjäger, and probably pre-issue (1938) of the standard sleeve and cap Edelweiss. The stemless Edelweiss on his cap is a World War I Alpenkorps Edelweiss. As you noted, his waffenfarbe is for Gebirgsartillerie. The machine gun he is using is the Austrian MG-30.
