I had this ''rope'' and had no other way to keep the white sheet in the helmet, so I tied it. Would this look unusual in a Stalingrad event?

That " rope " looks like baler twine to me - which is a plastic like material - which would look out of place at a Stalingrad event .

Get some hemp string
