Nice photos in a cracking location, just too much blur used in the editing for my liking though.

Michael great fotos.. Too bad the Brits and Amis couldn't coordinate their efforts to be effect in the attack! The night battle was interesting though, til that flare started burning!

Oh the flares...
That certainly added to the dynamic! (Wink)

Very nice job! It's nice to see an event other than Normandy or Russia. Also pretty cool to see Italians out there.
Looked like a great event to attend. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I do appreciate the comments.rednas wrote:Something totally different than what we usually see overhere! Very nice
Being in Southern California, we really do benefit from our location.
Within a 2 hour drive we have the snow packed mountains of the alps, the beaches of Normandy, the sweltering deserts of Tunisia and everywhere in between.

Some really great shots in there but I agree with Sean - your use of blur detracts from them.
I would recommend that when adding faux depth of field to your images that you should select one plane (or position) within the image and keep that in focus - your blur will happen either side of it to varying degrees. In some of these images you have kept more than one spot in focus and it looks really unnatural. Cameras just dont work that way.
Like these ones for example:
If you fixed the focus/blur effect then these would be some of the best/most interesting images i have seen on the forum this year. I especially like your colour treatment.
Im not having a go, please dont take it that way - Im just offering some constructive advice to improve your work.
If you are using Photoshop i would reccomend the Alienskin: Bokeh plugin - it will doo all the hard work for you and makes for some incredible results.

Thanks Rob,
Totally appreciated. Yeah, just kinda goin’ for a look than a recreation of a lens.
I’ll probably take it down a bit and stick to one focal point.
I should probably spend more time on 'em but, I tend to whip these suckers out the night I get home from a reenactment.
Thanks again for everyone's input,

As always with your group, really excellent stuff!
You might want to try posting some photos with the antique effect sans the blurring. The antique effect on the photos is really great.
Can't wait for your next submission!
