Or mildew, condensation and the like - even the shirt collars look snowy white. :shock: Maybe it was "located" in the Sahara Desert. :?

Not always. If no air has get too it ( if say it was buried in clay) then there wouldnt be any rust.

It was in an air tight container, but do any of you remember when they dug up the Blue Peter time capsule? That was sealed as well, but stuff had rotted and was ruined.

Too right ! it's a sham ! the hat looks almost brand new, see the sandy soil, heaps of salt content, it would of rusted to hell. one way of selling repro stuff at original's prices.
the moisture in the air would of rotted everything to dust. :mrgreen:
as they say ! there's a fool born every minute. :lol: :lol:
