The defence of the factory

Post by erikbozwo2 »

As the Americans approached the German border, any given building was used to defend it.

This river-based factory prooved itself being very usefull to stopping the Americans crossing the river.

Higher in the Factory some MG42's where set up to knock out any enemy infantry that dared to come close.

Whilst the northern side of the factory was occupied by a Pz.Gr. Zug the south side was defended by 2 gruppe of fallschirmjeager wich where on there way to another town when the fighting broke out. They quickly take cover in the other side of the factory.

Whilst on the other side the factory has seen it's better days, after a day of artillery shooting it turned into a pile of rubble. With schrapnel putting holes in walls a sniper team is making his way to a good lookout.

A MG team is retreating to another firing position, on the way they travel through the dark abandoned factory.

While not having handgrenades a lonely panzerfaust is used as a heavy weapon wich turned the factory into a pile of rubble even more.

The US troops where held back, but for how long? The Germans got back to the center of the factory to catch some rest but quickly returned back to their positions.

Wow, those are really some of the best urban warfare photos I have seen, great job :) Looking forward to see more. If you have access to that place for another time, maybe you could try adding some sandbags to fortify the positions and take photos of other preparations, like setting up tripwires.

Best regards,
