Whats sad is I know Yiddisher children, ie my own niecesw and nephews, who know so little about the camps. Oh, they know the names b/c of Yom H'Shoah but they no nothing of what its about.

my own sibs and a lot of assimilationists glaze over the Konsentrationslaager history and tell the kids to assimilate or die.

Who knew? Bad Jew? Either way, I know a lot of the leftist school teachers don't teach in here in the US because its too damaging to the kiids psyche.

Good point Josef :D

Similar thing happened at my school (no not borstal!)
The only reason i'd heard about the War was through
my Dad who was told things by his Dad who was a WW1/WW2
veteran, and the rest ive read myself after my intrest in
Militaria was stirred with stories when i was a a kid.
The history lessons i had were mostly about the Tolpuddle
marches and the Spinning Jenny :?
I remember one lesson where WW2 was briefly mentioned,
as i had been told about the KZ Camps from an early age
due to the fact my Grandad was a liberator at Belsen etc,
i happened to mention it to the teacher who basically
came down on me like a ton of bricks, she basically said
that this wasn't proved and was just a theory and not
to mention this rubbish again etc, when i protested and
said my Grandad was there as a British Soldier and was
among the Liberators, the teacher basically called my
Grandad a liar and i was sent out the class room.
The long and short of it is im not suprised that the kids don't
know anything about the War etc especially if their teacher was
like mine :| , i would have been the same if i hadn't been told by
someone else and my schooling was over 20 yrs ago , godknows
what its like now
