Just my opinion, but if you're going for Normandy time period, you might rethink your weapon choice. Were STGs seen in Normandy? Yes, but a very, very small amount were issued, so they were as rare as hen's teeth in the West. A rifle or MP would be the preferred choice IMO. Aside from that and the mess tin, you're squared away.

Really nice late war impression Heini.

Nice impression Erik, portraying the Heimkehr. Not aware of anyone having done this before. Remembering the early post war era when those lucky enough to survive sough to put their lives back together. Many walking home over vast distances, some after years of captivity. The famous Franz Gockel who walked from Cherbourg to his home in Germany.

Something a little different and along the same lines. An infantry NCO makes a hasty surrender to the American forces in Italy, April 1945.

I would love to hear your story!

Where did you begin and end? Did you walk wood roads? back roads and trail?

Hope you write more about your journey!

Here is my new LW FJ uniform. Not finished, of course. I still need the boots and some other small details (LW eagle attached, etc.).

Thanks! I took an old Ant-z, because I didn't have enough time to wait until Lost Battalions will produce new edition of their shirts.
