Don't carry a rifle but a pistol. For the rest You have about 2-4 ammo boxes. Easy way of carrying those is taking a shovel, put the handle through the handle of the box and carry it on your shoulder. That is a different point to the one I'm making, too long is as bad as too short. Over long is seen in the records just as too short is. There is a happy medium.
