Me being interrogated by GIs after being captured during an unsuccessful engagement with the enemy.... Any thoughts gents on looking like an original photo?

Minor suggestion: lose your webbing immediately after capture. Most of the POW photos I have seen, the Germans are without webbing (which makes sense from a risk perspective, as you can have a knife or pistol hidden anywhere in those); I'm sure there are also with-webbing POW photos, but I daresay that majority are without.

Great picture, you certainly look the part. Unlikely an original would focus on a single individual Germa SS soldier , would probably focus on the GI too.
Try it on an original camera ?

Here's one I've tinkered with of myself in British Para gear,
the backdrop is to resemble a similarity to Arnhem bridge 1944.

Like old times :-)
people trying to find fault lol

Actually yes, the chute was used as a back drop representing an equipment drop,
as you can see it is a small chute consistant with cannister and supply drops.

Annnnnnddddd.......yes again, i belong to a group that portrays an airborne element
that fought at Arnhem (among other places), the 21st Independant Parachute Company
known as "The Pathfinders"
Even though an Airborne unit they were a seperate entity who were armed with a variety of weapons
including the different types of Sten, rifles, mortars and Bren guns, infact the Mk 3 Sten gun was preferred by
the Pathfinders and Commando Units alike because of its shrouded barrel which acted as a suppressor and
cutting down noise, it also stopped most of the muzzle flame.
Formed in Africa from specialists and ex members of the LRDG, experts in explosives, radios and the like, they
went on to serve in Sicilly before being brought back to the UK for refittment, a seperate sister group was
formed, the 22nd IPC, this unit went on to serve in Normandy and the 21st were held in reserve until being
sent to Arnhem in the September.
Their mission was quite clear, after the success of the 21st IPC in Normandy their roles were the same,
basically being used as "Pathfinders" for the main Airborne drop in Arnhem, using the Eureka radar device
which guided in the planes for the rest of of the airdrop the 21st IPC were first on the ground, their secondary
mission was to hold the LZ's and DZ's for the rest of Airborne groups.
Unfortunately unlike Normandy the 21st IPC were faced with two SS units waiting for them so as well as
guarding the LZ's and DZ's they had to fight off an overwhelming enemy basically they were out numbered
as soon as on the ground so not many of this unknown unit made it back, the survivors were sent to other
Airborne units and filled on holes in the 22nd IPC the 22nd Independant Parachute Company.

Thats right, yes of course you were there wasn"t you :-D

Actually not all container chutes are massive, there were a lot of small containers
dropped at Arnhem which resembled medium sized wicker hampers and the chutes
holding them were the size of reserve chutes, sometimes even smaller, you say you have
original drop containers, well so have i, it is one these British issue wicker drop containers,
not German so you cannot compare the size.

As for supply drops reaching Arnhem bridge, 1000's were dropped near Arnhem even the
Germans pilaged them, not just that the bridge in the photo could be one of scores of
bridges in Holland, the place is full of them, not just large bridges but small foot bridges,
the photo is merely representing a generic bridge in Holland.during the Arnhem Op, you are
definately picking flies now and trying to poke holes in my representation.

As for the MK -3 Sten, i have already explained that but it seems my explanation was not good
enough for you, i'll say it again for the benefit of the other readers, my group represents the 21sr
Independant Parachute Company, even though Airborne they were a seperate unit from the main
Parachute Regiment and were issued all sorts of weaponary and hardware some top secret.

If i were to pick holes i could do so too, your two photo's you have put up are just the same as
100's of others on here, this section is supposed to show realistic photographs resembling
original period WW2 photo's, yours do not fall into that catagory imho and just show modern
poses staged for the camera, even if you have picked holes in my portrayal in your opinion
(which is wrong anyway) my photo has been posted on other forums and many people mistook
it for an original WW2 pic.
Message ends.
