I enjoy this photo. He is an Oberscharfuhrer, of the 9th SS Hohenstaufen, leading his unit in an assault during a public battle. The event took place at a 19th century fort on the banks of the Detroit river in the US. I like this one because it was not staged and looks so real.

Where it was taken: Rockford, IL Midway Village 2011

Why you like it so much: It show the huge size of the Stug III. Then the bond of the soldaten, the boy holding his hand out to help his komerad up onto the tank and then the LT also helping his men get on. The only fluke is the driver with the USMC shirt on

This is one of the best photos that was taken of us this year, Since we do not have a full time cam man, my choices were slim. I like it though. Myself and our Unteroffizier.
