Herr Peiper looking OK like you said a few tweaks and you will be OK not that I know US kit ,I rely on Jokkie for that here are two of him .He no longer has his airborne stuff as his interest is with Rangers it is also what the unit he is part of portay

some valuable advice about kit, i have followed it and have
ordered some new gear which is more authentic and will be
viewed on here shortly, i would like to thank him publicly on

101st troops did not wear wool knit cap in normandy-except 1 or 2 brave troops!
pet hate of general taylor and was even considred suchj an issue that colonel sink mentioned them in his pre-d day speach to troops!

Pistols had stopped being issued except to machine gunners
and Officers apparantly, stopped being issued by Feb 1944,
but were seen being worn in small numbers, these were either
ones that had been originally issued before the finish date or
purloined from supplies

Nice helmet update :)

But might want to change the helmet for a front seam, then correct liner and go for OD3 chin strap

Then change the M8A1 scabbard to a M8

You might want to consider an M2? How many M1C were there in Normandy?

The M2 Helmet production started in early January 1942 and was produced until December 1944 when it was officially replaced by the M1C.

The M2 helmet was only made by McCord and there were only 148,000 M-2 helmet shells ever made.
