No US flags for 101st?
Hardly any extra pockets on jump suits found outside 506th, not many outside Easy Co 506th?
Tuck the trouser legs into boots?

I'm pretty sure the US flag first came with Market garden... Please correct me if i'm wrong...

Thanks for the comments guys, yes the leg suspenders broke while doing this shoot, i will put leg ties on my trouser hems next time, and yes Stig you are right, no arm flag for the 101st, this one was already on, will get rid though lol,

It took me 6 months to get this together, only the jump suit, jump boots, holster and the musette bag are repro, the rest is original, (deact Thompson), sprayed and re- rigged up the helmet myelf, the pics i took myself using a mobile phone on a timer and on a step ladder then resized the pics, not bad though eh lol

You could have got it all in 3 days from SoF like most 101st re-enactors do.

Make sure your gloves are yellow, not the buff of the originals.
You want to fit in with the rest.

Lol will have to dye them then ha ha, actually these are copies but made
by the original manufacturer, got them from the French Normandy site,
the adi is on Milweb , ive done all the German portrayals and was bored
so tried something new to me and put this little lot together, am putting a new
one together now, watch this space lol

Tan shovel cover not an OD one please.... bottle looks OD too.... Tan all the way....

Check the size of the spade on your lid.... looks twice the size it should be....

Jump suit jacket looks far too big ... & long in the sleeve....

5 cell pouch.... now which can of worms do we open next...

If you have just dropped... 1st aid pouch tied on your web looks a bit skinny you been at the morphine...(not your lid), ALL pockets and musset FULL... your are what you carry...

After having handled literally thousands of surplus US 40's militaria at work, I must say that the "tan" in US use was anything from almost white to OD green Yes, even before 1944.

All colour webbing was used, it was 1944 afterall, using only tan webbing is a myth lol, actually
the bottle is tan, 5 cell pouches were used and have read that the three cell 30 rnd mag pouch
wasn't, im wearing an ORIGINAL modified Thompson rigger pouch so i know it was used lol, as for
the 1st aid dressing it is repro unfortunately, i couldn't get hold of the real thing, members of the
506th (who im portraying) didn't tie 1st aid dressings to their lids and the sleeves of my jacket are
undone thats why they look big lol, also lastly the painted insignia on lids were all shapes and
sizes, they were hand painted by the trooper himself, not sprayed/stencilled all nice and neat in
some factory like some people like to think lol, i think you need to look at my pics again, the
pockets and musette are FULL??, and this is as you are aware if you portray US Airborne??, prior to
jumping all extra equipment, rations, ammo and medical supplies were crammed into pockets and
pouches, thats why rigger pouches were made to carry even more lol

You see ive done some research too, not just gone to SOF and bought the entire outfit lol,
research was done firstly and done the old fashioned way by reading books lol (see Deschodts D
Day Paratroopers and Howards Americas Finest) to name a few....

All the usual reenactorisms like every new 506th impression. (and most old ones too)

Garand would be better than thompson (way over represented)
5 cell pouch sideways ( waaaaaay over represented )
flags not worn by 101st till market garden
OD7 shovel cover should be OD3 or more common OD3 with OD7 edges
Gloves - overrepresented after jump mostly gone
Dangly chin cup - over represented after jump
Gas bag - dumped after jump
Scarf - way over represented
Why have you got a 45 - not issue unless job specific. Yet everybody has to have one. If your doing North Africa then yes pistols are issue - but Normandy etc they are not.
spade too big - why do 506th like every other person who does all the above mistakes ?
Why dangly pouch on right shoulder - theres more practical places for it
NCO stripe - as a corporal your probably not actually leading anything (not %100 sure on the rule, but its not all officers and all NCOs its just those leading a formation.
Pants obviously.
extra pocket only in small numbers in specific unit - Waaaaaaaay over represented

One good point - no rope (again generally dumped after jump, and way over represented.)
