I think that pictures like the first two are something that should be presented, but also shouldnt. Without being disrespectful to the Italian group (who'm I think are pulling off a pretty good impresion) stuff like that needs to be pretty darn convincing else it looks abit comic book - in which case, it can be interpreted as "macabre" or "offensive", when that was not the intention. With hand-hand combat theres considerably more sweat (try adding drops of glycorene for a photoshoot - it sticks and looks convincing) and the dudes are fighting for their lives, so considerably more of a "shitting your pants" look is needed. Again, just some suggestions to make a photoshoot look more realistic - normally though I would stear clear of that type of thing, because invariably no matter how hard you try, the balance isnt quite right and it becomes offensive.

Why is it called bad taste? I don't understand this, why is it acceptable to have photos when guys are ment to have been shot but not when they have been stabbed? Seems very much like more sanitising of history again, combined with double standards.

I do agree with Tom though, these sort of photos do require an aweful lot of work in order to look accurate but i see no reason what so ever if they are done well not to post the results on here

Guess its a personal view although I do understand where you are coming from it did happen and war isn't pretty, But its such a dramatic scene two men fighting for their lives and having to physically thrust a blade into one's chest sort of makes my stomach turn. Sort of like the scene in Saving Private Ryan, makes me feel abit ill. As I said before great pictures :)

If we for get the First two photos the set of photos is very good one thing I liked was that they have K98s and not all tooled up with MPs . If and If I had to pick a fault it would be that those that are wearing the Tranjaket are wearing the same pattern It would of been nice to see a mix in the patterns as would of been seen in units during the war .

Or worse????

If anything I find the first two photos somewhat sanitised. When you plunge somebody there is CONSIDERABLY more claret than that about......... especially if the poor fecker is thrashing about too.......
Herr Fwbl you are correct and the place that the Russian is stabbed would take a lot of work He He

Yeah but Tom - Spielburg has a high end FX team who can make it look pretty damned realistic. I mean, they even hired in real amputees for the wounded....

It just looked.....real.....thats all. Not photoshopped with some red paint (No offence chaps).

I think the first 2 would have been fine if they had been executed better. They seem far to staged and a little silly rather than having the impact they should.

flectarn wrote:Looks good, just dont like the fact that everyone is using the same camo pattern or the messkits.
We've same pattern (M40 Tarnjacke Platanentarn) because we're same Kompanie and in first times of war ('40-'41) we had efficient supplies and equipments.
Different camos and different equipments is more correct from '44 to '45.
