From a number of postcards collected over the past few months.
Today the remains of the ship lie buried under a car park which was reclaimed from the basin in which she sank.

Two postcard views of Scheer, the first is frank marked 12th June 1940, the reciepiant has added a foot note on it dated 26/8/40.
The second one is an interesting bow on shot , the two youngsters seem to be giving the bow their full attention, I have the feeling that the swastika flag may have been superimposed on the photograph as it lacks the details and clarity.

A few more views of Scheer, the governments message on postcards was effectively the hi jacking of a popular means of communication today it has pretty much given way to the email and the jpeg attachment via the lap top or the "i-phone".

The flight of seaplanes is another add on.

I like these ships, when I was young my grandad used to bring me home the small scale 'Eagle wall' modells and the Admiral Scheer was the first one. :D

These three are from a photo album I bought a few months ago,the last two taken off the Spanish Coast in the Civil War, her tower was completely rebuilt in the mid war years to resemble "Lutzow"..... I prefer the old "square/ block of flats " look. :)

You are correct really should do this, can anyone suggest an easy to use method ?

The postcard images can easily be found on the net , the photos - I bought the album from a dealer who sells photos on ebay - photos he owns and some of these he sold on discs when he owned this album , unfortunately he has told me that some "gentlemen in Russia" have copied his photos and are selling them - I am almost sure these few have been "done".

I have found one "gent" selling photos I researched and after some dogs abuse from him he removed them, same gent was also selling photos which the IMW and RAF Museum Hendon hold copyright on - he has also since withdrawn these.

I totally agree one of the down sides of eBay and similar sites.

Thank you Gary . :)

This one is from another capital ship but just not sure which type, both sets of guns in the photo are 105mm twin mounted flak .
It is not Scheer or a ship of her class.
( (? Light or heavy cruiser ?)

Admiral Scheer , The tower is that of Graf Spee the "Coronel" being the distinctive id factor between them before Scheer's tower was re placed.
