German Hospital ship ERLANGEN

German Hospital ship ERLANGEN:
launched on 24.06.1922
commissioned as French steam passenger ship GOUVERNEUR GENEREL CAMBON;
Italian prize in 1940 and renamed into URBINO;
commissioned on 23.12.42 as German ship of Hs-flottilla Marseille;
commissioned on 13.03.44 as German hostipal ship ERLANGEN, but stayed until May at Marseille for additional works;
departure on 10.06.44 from Marseille, sailing for Via Reggio (transportation of 482 wounded to Genoa);
on 13.06.44, during the second travel to Via Reggio, attacked by 4 fighter bombers, but with only little damage;
on 14.06.44, after loading another 324 wounded at Via Reggio, ordered to rescue the survivors of TA26 and TA30;
during this rescue operation at about 17 km from Pantelleria attacked by several aircrafts and hit by bomb at the bow;
beached at Deiva di Marina;
on 15.06.44 in the morning towed over the stern to Genoa, which was reached on 16.06.44;
repairs were stopped in august;
on 04.09.44 heavy bomb hit at the forcastle;
on 13.09.44 abandoned;
