Camouflage of the German Stabszelt

Post by Feldbluse »

Hello,

it is conceivable that the 2 tone camouflage was also made with the colors of dark gray (RAL 46) and dark brown (RAL 45)?

According to Administrative Order "Vfg.v. 20.9.1938" vehicles should be provided with this camouflage.
Perhaps this style of painting has also been used in the tents.

The dark gray color always looks lighter on the black and white pictures from when it was the color actually.

What is your opinion?

Best Regards
Gerald

Here's a shot of one of my originals with the camo applied:

I've now got 11 original tents, all are of the same tan canvas colour, dated from 1937 through to 1943 apart from 2 tropical tents which are a darker shade/light brown colour.

Excellent pic,

I got a repro from Tentsmiths.. and had then put a sodcloth on the bottom of the walls, I am happy to see that the originals had them.

I Have been thinking of painting the tent as well, Mine is a field grey colour now.

It's where the previous owner put duct tape over a patch of canvas that had been eaten by mice.
