K98 pouch quiz

Post by ppanzers »

I acquired a couple of 3 pocket k98 pouches as part of a purchase a few years back. Curious if anyone knows there likely origin eg post war Spanish? They appear old, but don't fit with the usual German ww2 examples. They are made from brown leather, but painted black at some point (no markings) and feature heavy rivets in their construction.

Any markings on the top of the middle pouch flap?
If there's an SA within a square border they're Finnish.

Otherwise, take a look at a list of the countries that used the Mauser 98 in one or another form...then choose one of them.
Not able to open the images for a better look unfortunately!
