I know a guy named Bill Bureau who deals in axis stuff. Been to his house. He has an original K98. Not sure if its Russian capture or not,but had clear Waffen ampts. Price tag said $280. I can ask him more about it,if its for sale ect.

LHistorian: I am in California and I own a K98 with a bolt that has what appears to be Russian post-war electro-pen marking on it. The rest of the receiver/breech area does NOT show signs of Russian "ownership", such stamped X's. But it would seem that the bolt, at least, has been to Borscht-land.

Since I need a K98 myself, I would be willing trade for another in similar condition with NO Russkie markings. (As a matter of full disclosure, my K98 has mis-matched part numbers, the breech being marked "duv / 1941."

Sorry for the late response 21PzSoldat, regrettably I don't have any mauser at ALL.... so still looking for one myself  if you might be willing to sell it I would be quite interested! Feel free to send me a PM on here!
