It is like a metal a-frame, Traggestell M1939 by its real name. Who used it, dont know, but pictures below suggest mortar teams and gebirgsjägers.

Were these common? I've never come across one before, it looks a great little piece of kit. I've seen a picture of a group eight or so Panzer-Lehr Panzergrenadiers in Normandy each lugging two boxes of mg-ammunition for the 42 plus normal kit, one of these frames would of come in handy no doubt.

Its rare to find, I seen one for sale in Belgium it was a few euros short of 700...

I have never seen one for sale on ebay before....

It would be a great little piece to have..
