Vetrans Accounts
Are there any good books out there in English that give Vetran accounts/ the German side of things of WWII. Have read "It Never Snows In September" which was fantastic and recently read the stroy of the young lad that served in one of the SS Foreign Divisions.. Will Feys accounts of his Tiger battles was also a very good read.
Aren't there any out there like the "Forgotten Voices" series from the Axis point of view?
Also any good books about the battles around Vienna in the closing stages of the War.

Re: Vetrans Accounts
Hi Chris,
I have read Will Fey's account too, great book.
I have a few that are biographical accounts:
Peter Mooney-
'Waffen-SS Knights and their Battles' Vol 1 & 2
Mark C Yerger-
1. SS-Obersturmbannfhrer Otto Weidinger: Knight's Cross with Oakleaves and Swords SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 4 "Der Fuehrer"
2. SS Sturmbannführer Ernst August Krag: Träger des Ritterkreuzes mit Eichenlaub, Kommandeur SS-Sturmgeschütz-abteilung 2/SS-Panzer-Aufklärungsabteilung 2 "Das Reich"
Here is another few good books:
Albrecht Wacker -Sniper on the Eastern Front - The Memoirs of Sepp Allerberger Knights Cross
Johann Voss- Black Edelweiss: A Memoir of Combat and Conscience by a Soldier of the Waffen-SS
Guy Sajer - The Forgotten Soldier (My favorite book! )
I have a good few personal accounts from reunions given to me by veterans, they are very interesting but unfortunately impossible to get.
Ohh and on Vienna, I found this, haven't read it

Machine gunner 24th Panzer. nice details like using the steel cased ammo for long range harrasing fire - and saving the better quality brass cased for actuall battle (as the steel jammed a lot)
