St. Petersburg 2008

Post by Reich Crispies »

Following on from the success of last years event, a public battle and show will once again be held at the town of Nikolskoe in January 2008.

Bair Travel, with his trusty representative Russian Bob (Pirka on the forum) are organising the travel and battle arrangements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take part in a battle on an original Ostfront site. Original bunkers and trenches, snow, freezing bloody cold, but superb. :D

If any one is interested try and talk to Bob on the 2nd Guards display at the Victory show, or failing that, drop by the Das Reich display for a chat and a leaflet.

Places are limited but at a very reasonable all in price.

In the words of Fred Pontin "Book Early!"

Mod Edit
Stickied to keep it in People's minds. What an opportunity. I can only endorse this.

Good to here it guys!
We should be able to raise quite an impressive multi-national Kampfgroupe. :D

Suggest a whip round for vodka supplies pre battle this time!

Again a reminder to all you guys and gals who have expressed a firm interest to keep the PM's coming. We are booking the flights within the next 3 weeks.

Think I'd be very interested in coming along to this one with my mate Frontschwein, I'm a bit of a noob here, but we have full winter ss loadouts, I dare say we'd need visas and gun hire when we got to St Petersburg. Just wondering how many are going from the UK and how they are gettig there, is there some sort of organised trip/transport or do you make it under your own steam? A bit more info would be great!

I know that the Russians are well into their great patriotic war reenactments, anybody got any idea how many in terms of numbers we are likely to see here and what about armour, any T34's that need the attention of a few panzerfausts

No T-34s, there is a T-70 (repro) but you should be able to take that out with wet towels.
Vehicles are a new thing at reenactments in North-West Russia, but seen quite frequently at Rostov-on-Don. At a recent one down there, the Germans were backed by a PZ II, a PZ III and a Tiger!

BTW, glad you're coming along. You won't be dissapointed.

I will be posting a kit list up soon, dont worry :D

Back on thread, we are flying out on the 23rd January, Ryanair from Stanstead (very cheaply).
Once all the names are in, the flights will be booked.
After that chaps you are on your own!

Once the flights are booked I will collect passports and £35.00 each for visas.

Keep the PM's coming.
