The Yorkshire Wartime Experience new dates 5-7th July 2013.

Image

Held in 30 acres of land, to the south west of Leeds, with easy access to the M62 motorway (junction 26), the Yorkshire Wartime Experience provides an opportunity for us to begin to understand what it was like to live through and serve in the wars and conflicts of the 20th century. Visitors can witness battles re-enacted in meticulous detail by respected living history groups, walk amongst 'British Tommies' of the First World War, 'GI Joes' from the beaches of Normandy, the Womens Land Army of the Second World War as well as experience many other living history displays covering a period from the First World War to more modern conflicts. There will also be a unique opportunity to experience some of the largest and rarest military vehicles both on static display, and during the daily vehicle parades. Veteran's groups and old comrades associations will also participate in commemorative services; which we consider to be a vital part of the weekend, as we show our respect and gratitude for those who gave their lives in conflict, and those who were prepared to do so. Another vital part of the weekend is to take the opportunity to provide an educational element to the show, and to this end, Friday afternoon is devoted visiting school parties who will be able to interact with the living history displays, providing a unique insight to the people and equipment represented.

Groups wishing to attend please visit the website to download an event attendance application form.

We've had a great response, from group & vehicle bookings. 79 vehicles inc five tanks & over 20 re-actment groups already. Many thanks for your support guys. Our website is being updated daily, so please take time to have a look at what's on. Where well on the way, to sorting out the battlefield. More trenches etc to be dug. Don't forget the 5th of July is school visit only, so again where aiming for as many groups as possible to be on set up on the Friday.

Yorkshire Wartime!

Can't think of any two words that would fill my heart with greater gravity than that, sinking indeed to a hell on earth!

saying that, I hope it works out and makes lots of money and spreads our hobby a little more :)
