Why cant those that are doing W-SS just wear the drill working uniform and a Camo cap ? as there is no insignia on the drill uniform apart from rank

Smock, Shirt, Helmet cover, as in Paul at the front of this photo, not the old fool on the tank...............

I've been experimenting
Buckles can be safely "Neutered by taking a piece of plastic card and bending it to form a slide on type cover which is then painted feldgrau and slipped over the fastened belt. Turns it into a smooth rectangle of the correct colour with absolutely NO chance of offending the observer.
Smocks are a good idea Neil - the negate the need to display medals etc. Helmet covers prevent decals being on show.

Thats right and keeps everyone happy, one can do a Waffen-SS impression without any insignia showing,
and that could be a way forward for Waffen-SS reenactor groups to exist within Germany for the future.
Interesting to note however, that Wehrmacht reenactors face EXACTLY the same restrictions, there is no difference.

I was myself in contact with the Verfassungschutz today and I have raised a few questions of my own,
but more on that later.......lets see if I get a result, early days yet.

Cheers, Bill.

Early war runes, cuff titles were removed and belts were worn under the Camo smock
