Battle of Crete Weekend 2014 - at VA Beach Air Show

Post by FJFabrik »

Fallschirmjäger-Lehrkompanie Event: Battle of Crete Weekend (VA Beach Airshow 15-18 May 2014)
Fellow FJ Reenactors,
The next FJ-Lehrkompanie event will be held in conjunction with the “Warbirds Over the Beach” WW2 Airshow in Virginia Beach, VA, on 15-18 May 2014, and the theme is “Battle of Crete 1941”. Like last year, we’ll conduct our exclusive FK-Lehrkompanie immersion event on Friday, 17 May, and then conduct an interactive public display during the Airshow on Saturday and Sunday.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Go to the official FJ-Lehrkompanie 2014 site by clicking on this link:

2. Print out the pre-registration forms, fill out/sign them, return per instructions on the form, and paypal your pre-registration fee ASAP! (The $25 pre-registration fee covers Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner on Friday & Saturday (6 meals), and some special gear used by all of us during the event. Additionally, you can also pre-purchase a special $20 commemorative "Kreta" beer glass; these are very cool, with "Kreta 1941" and the jump badge etched onto a tall Weizen-style beer glass).

BILLETING IN ORIGINAL LUFTWAFFE HANGAR: We’ve received special permission from the Military Aviation Museum to be billeted in their original WW2 Luftwaffe Hangar! You won’t need to bring tents or tarps! Please read our event website for all information regarding required uniforms, kit, billeting, meals, itinerary, etc!

WE CAN ONLY TAKE THE FIRST 45 PRE-REGISTRATONS: Because of the museum’s maximum occupancy restrictions for the German hangar, we're capping our total number of FJ-LK participants at the first 45 FJ reenactors who pre-register (form/liability waiver & registration fee payment) by 30 April 2013!!!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: A link to the event site at the Military Aviation Museum is provided on our FJ-Lehrkompanie event site. Be sure you make Thursday, 15 May your travel day!

Please read the entire FJ-Lehrkompanie event web site to understand the event rules and to ensure you show up with the proper gear! This truly is a unique opportunity for any FJ reenactor with a proper early war kit – it will be the largest gathering of early-war FJ reenactors within the USA.

NOTE: We will return all pre-registrations & fees received AFTER the 45-person cap or AFTER 30 April, whichever occurs first.

Looking forward to seeing you there - Nach Kreta!

Don C.
