Fallschirmjager over Holland 2013

Post by Sturmschar »

Last week the Second Battle Group knitting and drinking circle, plus some friends, spent seven days in Holland at the Dutch National Skydive Centre, Teuge airfield near Arnhem completing the Static Line Licence course. We each completed 5 jumps two of which were from an Antonov AN10 pictured below. It was an exhilarating experience which none of us will ever forget, my thanks to Kit Kat for organising and mentoring us, I will never forget that fallschirmjager exit of yours from the AN10 nor the entire stick of nine fallschirmjager in one drop over Holland!!!

Jeder sprung ein sieg kamarad!

I found that exit very stable but that is a low speed aircraft (like the JU52) and look forward to doing it again soon

The more I think about it the closeness of the group and the achievement is a life affirming moment - cant wait for Normandy!!

Nelz you would need to do the course in Holland unless you have been a real paratrooper (like me) to do the anniversary jumps, this is why we all done the course, me for the crack with my mates and so they can then jump at Normandy and Arnhem (i have jumped at both places before but i jumped from a DC3 last year at sannerville and rode mt R12 to pegasus bridge in my ww2 Brit Para uniform)

Cheers
