I have this series in a DVD box set,
there's some really good reference material for Normandy in terms of location images and some weapons, but not a lot else!
while the quality of the footage is indeed excellent, the production itself is a load of rubbish! it portrays the whole Normandy campaign like a walk in the park for the Allies, with thousands of Germans just queueing up to surrender, where they are shipped off to POW camps akin to holiday resorts, total bull. I think it's disrespectful to the men of both sides to portray their efforts like that.
This is very good quality footage, but also very selective, and best watched with the volume muted!
thanks for sharing all the same :)
