I saw earlier that you have one of thise, and you was carried it on PE2010.
This type isn't been used in military purposes during the WW2?
(Is this only pre WW2 civilian model?)

Im not an expert but this appears to be a late War normal type of rucksack,
Gebirg rucksacks usually had one large horizontal type of pocket situated
on the front of the rucksack and three fastening straps on the top and bottom
flaps, see a pic of mine below for example of a genuine Gebirg type.

Salute Peiper,
on your photo is classic M31 (typical for the prewar period and the beginning years of the war)
during the war years becomes with simplification and modification of the M31 model.
(In the late war years, backpack models become similar for GJ, Infantry, LW...)
I was reading that from these modified type of GJ rucksacks were developed rucksacks for other WH/LF units.

WOLF... I have a nearly identical rucksack as your second photo, mine has all leather straps.

WHEN, oh When, will they make a reproduction M-31 rucksack?

Every original I have seen for sale has been ripped/torn or extremely worn.

My 15 Jagers in mein Eineheit need them!

unfortunately, no one (dared to) go into reproduction of (M31) backpacks...

...has a lot of us who would be interested in the purchase of such items.

Your 2nd Rucksack is not a Gebirgsjäger rucksack, it is post war, more precisely early East German. Typical are the stiffeners in the sides and the carrying straps in leather/web-mix (there are also models with complete leather straps). The metal parts (hooks etc.) on the very early models are often from old Wehrmacht stock. These rucksacks come in various colours, in grey, tan, khaki etc., leather parts can be black or brown.
These Rucksacks are often used in German films as "Wehrmacht" rucksacks, for example in "Der Untergang" - Traudl Junge is carrying this rucksack when escaping from the bunker.

bdw. on leather part of slap rucksack has the year mark 194* -the last number is not recognized.
I bought it very cheaply and it will be good for late war years reenacting.
