Wow, totaly forgot this tread.
Too buissy with my new uniforms

The purpose is to show the public more "exotic" uniforms. I mean there where thousands of foreign volunters in all branches of the Heer (SS, WL, WH, NSKK, OT, DRK, etc...), but on shows there aren't many re-enactors who do them. We like to create a group of re-enators who can represent them and give the public some info about the unit. I guess this can't be too difficult as you have to look into books to get the uniform historicly correct, is it?

some films:

As you can see there is potential!

I think it is what you might call a 'specialist' subject. ie not mainstream enough for most people to notice or be interested in.

Mainstream certainly not in the opinion of the grand mass, but shouldn't it be done therefore? It is in my opinion that we see far to often the same units. Most of them where in the large battles and that's it. All the rest are almost forgotten or never shown.

It was great to see the Latvian volunteers at the Gunpowder mills, and Bill dressed up as Handshar.

Good luck with the group - The Latvians would be an excellent group of volunteers to start with. They participated in some of the heaviest fighting in the retreat from the Baltic to Berlin. Also from a insignia point of view the armshields are very striking and so are the two alternative collar patches they wore.

This has potential for a good representation of the more unusual uniforms and units of which there are many. Good luck to you and i look forward to seeing some of the portrayals soon.
