Instead of concentrating its group depiction on one historical unit it took a wider view to depict the common German Infantry Soldier from 1943-45. The German ‘Landser’ who formed the backbone of the German army (Heer). The men that were conscripted from all corners of Germany, fought for their country and died in their millions.
Die Soldaten carry on the values of PFRGD along with its high standards, passion for research and eye for detail into a variety of new impressions. You will see us at future events representing units such as German Infantry in Normandy, Volksgrenadier in the Ardennes as well as the GD Fusiliers on the eastern front.
As an infantry based group we concentre on the basic squad formations of the Heer, the Gruppe (section) and Zug (platoon). This incorporates the use of, and training in all standard infantry weapons, section weapons such as the MG42, support weapons such as the 8cm Mortar and anti-tank weapons. As well as this we also practice period field tactics, period camp life and the digging and preparation of field defences. All second nature to the German soldier of WWII.
We do not wish to represent the elite, the specialist trained soldier, the armoured vehicle units. Over 10 million men were in the German army, it is those men we want to represent As part of this new venture we are looking for new like minded members to the group.
