The Frontline Association FJR9 & DRK

Post by Jaws »

The Frontline Association are a group of enthusiasts that portray late WWII German Paratroopers and the nurses of the German Red Cross.

Our Fallschirmjagers of FJR9 are “veterans” of the major battles that the German Paratroopers were involved with and are recruiting new Jagers to fill the ranks as FJR9 goes from strength to strength, readying themselves for future battles!

Our German Red Cross (DRK) are the ladies who wished to come to the aid of the wounded German soldiers, attending to those injured whilst serving in Germany’s armed forces throughout WWII. With the ranks of Fallschirmjagers beginning to swell, we are looking out for new DRK nurses too!

We have members north and south of the country, concentrating on events, shows and battles in the centre of the U.K. This gives members a choice of which events will best suit their circumstances.

Our aim is to portray the men and women of the period to our best abilities, show respect to the fighting men of WWII and educate those who wish to learn more about the history of WWII.

And to have a lot of fun doing it!

We have a wealth of knowledge in this area and are constantly learning more every time we get together as a group to enjoy this hobby. There is a great social side to the group and with other groups that are friends have a very fulfilling time doing what we do!

If you are interested in beginning re-enacting WWII or wish to add to our ranks find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheFrontlineAssociation We will be happy to hear from you.

We will be at Eden Camp, Malton, North Yorkshire over the Easter weekend. We will be mainly training and doing paperwork (and having a couple of units of alcohol in the evenings :D ) but if anyone wants to see us, feel free to make a day of it!
For those of you who do not know Eden Camp at Malton, it's an old WWII POW camp that is now a WWII themed attraction. Lots of indoor display's if the weather is poor!

Elvington Battlegroup North Event,
Well, another great event, even if the weather worked against us! Great displays from all the groups who attended, the FJR 39-45 guy's looked great! We look forward to catching up with you again! Our DRK girls shone through the rain showers and a great weekend was had by all, I must apologise for the wife's bottle stacking abilities! We will be there again next year, make a note in your diaries!

Our visit to Berrington Hall was a great success... apart from the rain! Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon it poured down!! But with a great attendance by our Fallschirmjagers and DRK nurses we helped the event organizers muster a great display for the visitors of the war weekend!
Many thanks to the staff of Berrington Hall for their flexibility in a difficult situation and keeping us all warm and dry.

We are attending the Pickering WWII weekend at "Le Visham" 17th - 18th October, the DRK girls are centre stage whilst the poor Fallschirmjagers are hastily re-badged to Heer! This is going to be one brilliant event, if you are able to stop by it will be well worth your time! Our DRK section will be working with the other groups attending so expect to see casualties!!
See you there!
