As has been mentioned a repro one would be illegal to own in the UK ( for any reason ).

The same as ballisong knives and switchblades.

Isnt it also illegal to sell one?
So soliciting for one might also be illegal?

The Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959. Section 1 states:

"Any person who manufactures, sells or hires or offers for sale on hire or exposes or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or hire, or lends or gives to any other person... any knife which has a blade which is released from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or the application of centrifugal force and which, when released, is locked in place by means of a button, spring lever, or other device, sometimes known as a 'gravity knife'
.
. shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction . . . to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale or to both such imprisonment and fine."

That is clear enough i think

Therefore one should state where they are coming from, as in other places...such as here...I can walk around with one :D

Or is it not allowed to offer one for sale to other countries when the website is based in the UK, but the seller is based somewhere else?

I suppose if one offered it for sale on this forum with the caveat that it cannot be sold to a UK resident, then a Swiss seller could advertise for pan-European buyers legally??? Have no idea how the UK law would treat this example though, but as the seller isn't UK based I can't see what they could do?

Any legal eagles on here to clarify?

The main thing is that this site is being monitored in the UK, so you would think that they might jump at such questions being asked as most members here are from the UK.

The only place it's not being monitored by is probably Antartica...those penguins aren't quite there yet.

The fact that this is a UK forum should have no ramifications on a seller, the members of the forum are from the global community, as long as the seller states clearly that the item will not be for sale in countries in which items such as these are Illegal/restricted e.g. the UK, then I cant see how there would be any problems, however you are still permited to own these items if you purchased them before the legeslation came in force, however proving this could be a pain (I know of 2 chaps that own such knives as these, and there well aware of its illegality but choose to ignore it)
